In the XVII cenyury the holiday farm was a stage for the horse changing: it is situated 200 metres above sea level, at the foot of the mounts belonging to Maiella-Morrone National Park and Gran Sasso-Laga National Park.
The farm lies in an ideal geographical position since it is in the heart of Abruzzo which represents the green region of Italy: It is in an ideal position to reach several areas interesting from both natural and cultural points of view. It represents the ideal site for those who want to spend a holiday among nature, culture and traditions.
Moreover, the seaside is only 30 minutes far away, while going to Rome takes about 1 hour and a half. It takes 20 minutes to reach the international airport of Pescara.
Things to see
The two adjacent National Parks, enriched by interesting prehistorical finds, are worth seeing, together with the little characteristic towns in the surroundings. Also the medieval hermitages in which pope Celestino V stayed are easy to be reached. They are only 30 minutes far away
The De Pompeis family, who loves and knows Abruzzo deeply, puts at the tourists' disposal her experience, and several guides to practise alternative tourism (cultural, archaelogical, naturalistic, folkloristic itineraries and so on). Moreover, a spa is only 10 minutes away from the farm.
Hospitality
There are 4 flats (for a total of 12-16 beds). They have been restored recently; however there is a particular atmosphere and the furniture has not been changed. Each flat is provided with a bathroom (with warm water and shower) a living room and a kitchen (the necessary things are already there); 1 or 2 bedrooms (each one with 2 beds) and a terrace. There are also two camper areas with private toilets. Table-tennis and mountain bikes at tourists'disposal. There is no restaurant in the farm; however in the surroundings people will find several "trattorie", the nearest one is 350 metres far away and is cheap. Possibility to gather grape, cherries, figs and nuts. Local wines and olive oil. It is possible to take pets previous request.
N.B. The farm opens only by previous booking for a minimum of 2-3 nights, by paying a deposit as a confirmation.
